Nagraj Manjule, whose Fandry is among the most-awaited Marathi films of the year, has started working on his second venture as a filmmaker. The L V Shinde Group’s recently launched production house, Supreme Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd, in association with S K Productions, will be producing Nagraj’s new and youthful Marathi film titled Sairat.

He said almost all the lead roles will be played by new actors. “Very soon, we will be launching contests and audition sessions across the State looking for talented and suitable actors. I have to finalise the cast at least a month before I start shooting Sairat,” Nagraj said.
Written and directed by Nagraj Manjule, Sairat has Gargi Kulkarni and Priyanka Dubey as costume designers and the film will be edited by Kutub Inamdar. Produced by Lalasaheb Shinde, Rajendra Shinde, Sandeep Kewlani and Komal Kewlani; the film is expected to go on floors around November this year and it will be ready for release by April-May next year.
Speaking on the release of his first film Fandry, Nagraj said an announcement in this regard would be made in the next 10 days. Fandry has been produced jointly by Nilesh Navalakha’s Navalakha Arts and Vivek Kajaria’s Holy Basil Productions.
